ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

In Chinese culture, bamboo embodies humility, friendship, harmony, and resilience. It can be found everywhere in daily life, and is also one of the favourite subjects for Chinese artists.

For “The Seasons of Bamboo” exhibition, organised by the ICICLE Cultural Space under the curatorial direction of Pascale Le Thorel, the painter and sculptor Ru Xiao Fan presents a series of works inspired by the elegance of bamboo forests that extend upwards, reaching for light.

Paintings, watercolours, and sculptures brought together within this personal exhibition illustrate the spiritual dimension of bamboo, which, just like reed, bends but does not break, and promises perpetual change.
