For its spring / summer 2025 collection ICICLE celebrates the raw beauty of nature.
WE ARE ICICLE
A small group of people, rather well-dressed for a morning walk in the country, accompanied by a discreet but rather scruffier entourage, gathers in a deep valley near Taozicun. Horses graze impervious a hundred yards away, happily sharing the abundant grassland with water buffalo and their companion white egrets. The mountains demarcating the valley here assume anthropomorphic qualities, their idiosyncratic mound shapes lending each a specific, almost humorous personality. The incongruity of a fashion encampment assembled by ICICLE in this ordinarily little-visited landscape for our spring summer campaign is somehow tempered by the abandon of the company at finding itself transported here.
MADE IN EARTH
The natural folds of the landscape echo the billowing mud-dyed silks and fluid uncoloured linens, the mineral colours of the earth and rocks harmonise with the palette of the clothes and even the entourage of black clad photographers, assistants, hairdressers appear almost like the egrets to the buffalo, symbiotic companions to their ICICLE-clad subjects.
The scene is so perfectly ICICLE. A day in late summer where the roasted earth is already beginning to feel the relief of fall rain and the grass is reassuming its green vibrancy. Our season’s inspiration is captured here. Not in words, but in the images of our campaign, in the lookbook for our eco line. The camera delights in the discovery of the specific geography of this province, the grass-sated ponies, buffalo wallowing to cool in muddy waterholes and giant lazy butterflies. Despite the apparent urbanity of the ICICLE silhouette, it fits perfectly into this fundamentally natural environment, once again affirming our motto: Made in Earth.
