Shi Qi | Into the Folds of Time

ICICLE Cultural Space, Paris

19ᵗʰ March – 15ᵗʰ May, 2025

To open its 2025 season, ICICLE presented the first solo exhibition in France by Chinese artist Shi Qi at the Cultural Space above its George V flagship.

Titled Into the Folds of Time, the exhibition offered a meditative journey through the artist’s recent works, exploring themes of memory, loss, and renewal.

Originally from Wenzhou and now based in Paris, Shi Qi draws on personal experience and Chinese spiritual traditions to create deeply introspective pieces.

Her practice, shaped by years of silence and reflection, bridges abstraction and ritual.

Using ink, collage, and folded paper, she gives form to intangible rhythms, of breath, of grief, of time itself.

Rooted in the concept of Qi (气), the vital force that flows through all things, her work speaks to the universal search for connection and inner peace.

This inaugural solo exhibition marked a poignant return to visibility for an artist whose language is both personal and transcendent.
